🏆 This year, we have a special reason to be proud.
The City of Québec has won TAC’s 2026 Technology Achievement Award for its project Identifying Issues Related to Frost Heave Using 3D Surveys (LiDAR), carried out using Jakarto’s technology.
This distinction recognizes the work of the City of Québec’s teams and a collaboration we are proud to be part of. It also reflects what drives our team: providing data that helps municipalities better understand their communities and make informed decisions.
❄️ Understanding frost heave to plan more effective repairs.
For municipal teams, addressing this recurring challenge means being able to locate pavement deformations, measure their extent, and gather the information needed to guide maintenance and rehabilitation work.
The City of Québec’s project offers a practical response to this challenge. By comparing mobile LiDAR surveys collected in winter and summer, teams can measure changes in pavement elevation and identify areas affected by frost heave.
This approach makes it possible to document entire road corridors and better target assessments and repairs. Learn more about the project on TAC’s website.
